Title: A Good Old-Fashioned Rogering (or: A Couple of Cute English Guys)
Rating: NC-17
Characters: Fifth Doctor, Sixth Doctor, Peri Brown
Pairings: Five/Six/Peri, a passing allusion to Three/Delgado
Wordcount: 6,877
Summary: 'Just because I'm a powerful figure of noble bearing and great command doesn't mean I'm incapable of yenning after a good old-fashioned rogering!'-- The Doctor yens. Peri obliges. They rope his younger self in to help out with proceedings.

Ie: the fic with the anal double penetration, ridiculous banter, and, because this is Six, speechifying. I'm kind of ridiculously pleased with it.

For those of you unaware, it is the season of podtor_who, a Doctor Who holiday podficathon. Go check it out; podfic is fabulous. As one of my contributions this year, I've recorded a fic by the ever-wonderful neveralarch, featuring Jo and Delgado!Master having adventures, the Master being more than usually blind to his own motivations, and a rehash of The Deadly Assassin.

Title: The Amazon
Author: neveralarch
Reader: Culumacilinte (ie: hobbit_feets)
Length: 9373
Rating: Teen and up
Pairing/Characters: Four/Delgado!Master, Jo Grant
Author's Summary: Jo made a poor choice in husbands, the Master made a poor choice in building materials, and the Doctor's gone off in a scarf.

Title: Life, After
Fandom: Doctor Who
Rating: Teen-ish?
Pairing: Ace McShane/Ninth Doctor
Summary: ‘Come back to the TARDIS, then.’ He offers it like it’s the obvious alternative, but Ace bites her lip. Maybe it is the obvious alternative, and she’d be lying if she said some part of her wasn’t tempted, but it feels… too soon, somehow. Or something. Too much like giving the Doctor power over her life again, and she doesn’t know that she’ll ever be ready for that.
Disclaimer: I own nothing! Who belongs to the mighty Auntie Beeb

I had a series of bizarre dreams last night.

First dream, I and my passel of non-existent siblings got mistaken for… some branch of the Royal Family, and spent about half of the dream pretending to be the children of the Duchess of something. Even though you’d think the Duchess of something would have recognised her own children. Eventually, naturally, we got found out, and I had to do a lot of stuttering explaining for why I was pretending to be her daughter, and stumbling over addressing her as marm-as-in-arm or ma’am-as-in-ham, and was fairly sure I was going to be arrested for impersonating a member of the Royal Family and accused of shoving the real ones into a closet somewhere. But I wasn’t. And then the Queen showed up, and she was very sharp old lady a la Judi Dench, and somehow I then ended up walking down Oxford Circus with the Queen and my mum, and we went into a record shop, and I bought velvet shoes with curly toes.

Second dream, I was in a production of Les Mis which apparently… had never had any rehearsals before, because all the scenes were massively out of order, and it was only my previous knowledge of the play which meant I got my cues at all. I was playing Javert, which was awesome, but I hadn’t been mic’d, so I was trying to project all these low notes and failing, and for some reason, during ‘Stars’, it was like the stage had been turned into a trampoline, or else gravity was suddenly one sixth the usual, because I was bouncing all over the place and trying to maintain a suitable gravitas whilst doing so. Which was difficult. And then halfway through, even though there was an audience, I realised that it actually was a rehearsal, because half the cast wasn’t costumed, and blocking hadn’t been finalised. And some of my castmates would play this game of, like, throwing themselves on me and stuff and trying to get my composure to break, because I was doing a Javert Stern and Unamused face, and was… apparently onstage during the entire production. Just planted off to one side with my chin up and my hands behind my back.

I dunno.

If you're from the UK and you believe in freedom of speech and an uncensored interenet, you really need to sign this petition. There are others floating about, but that particular one is the best way to ensure that your voice gets heard. It's hosted on the directgov website and addresses parliament directly. If it gets more than 100,000 signatures, it becomes eligible for discussion in the House of Commons.

Everyone's been getting so worked up over SOPA -- and rightly so -- that ACTA seems to have slipped under the radar. This is hugely problematic, because ACTA is a similar bill, but it has the potential to be far more damaging than SOPA ever could be.

Some people seem to have this misconception that ACTA is the 'European SOPA', but that simply isn't true. It's a global treaty, and it's already been signed by eight countries, including the US, Japan, New Zealand and Singapore. Europe votes on Thursday. If they vote 'no', the bill will have to be taken back to the drawing board and reformulated, which should buy us some time at the very least.

If you think this doesn't affect you, you're wrong. If ACTA passes, it could well signal the end of the internet as we know it, and that isn't an exaggeration. It's not just about watching movies and television online. If ACTA passes, sites like YouTube, Livejournal, Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook and even Google and Wikipedia could become impossible to maintain. ACTA would allow ISPs to monitor your net activity and cut off internet access for your entire household if one person is suspected of breaching copyright. Think Big Brother is Watching. I don't think I need to emphasise just how damaging it can be to be without internet access in this day and age, when we rely so heavily on technology.

It's not only bloggers and fandom that would be affected, either. Small businesses, independent film-makers and unsigned musicians who have previously found their niche online would also suffer hugely, and would be at risk of being bullied into submission by Hollywood and multinational corporations under accusations of copyright infringement. All those artists who found fame by uploading covers of songs to YouTube would never have had the opportunity to do so under ACTA, as those cover versions would be prohibited.

I know the internet has its problems, but to my mind it's the single greatest invention to come out of modern times, and it would be an absolute travesty if we were to lose that now. From a personal point of view, I can't even put into words how important this is to me. I've met some of my closest friends through the internet and online fandom, people whom I would likely never have met without it, and it's given me this amazing social support system. I don't want that to end here, and I want to preserve it for future generations so that they can have the same experience and opportunities I've been given through my online interactions.

I know that opinions on the seriousness of copyright infringement and online piracy vary wildly, but that isn't really the point. Internet giants such as Google are opposed to this bill, and it's pretty safe to say that they're not in favour of copyright infringment, as anyone who's ever had a fanvid taken down from YouTube will be painfully aware. Whatever your stance on copyright, this isn't the way to go about dealing with it. This is dangerous legislation that impeaches on some of our most basic human rights, such as the right to privacy and freedom of speech.

So if you're from the UK, please, please sign the petition. If you hail from elsewhere in the world, there may well be similar movements in your own country, but I think the most effective thing anybody can do right now is to keep talking about this. Talk about it on Livejournal, on Twitter, on Tumblr, on Facebook, and anywhere else you can think of. Make sure this issue is never far from people's minds. The internet is an amazingly powerful tool: let's utilise it while we still have the chance.

Please repost and spread the word :)

SAY NO TO ACTA!

Please consider reposting this, especially if you have a large proportion of UK flisties. And please consider spreading the word via other platforms: Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, your own personal network.

I will make the first five people to comment here something handmade in 2012.

The catch is; you have to offer the same to your friends. Non-craftsy peeps, make mix CDs or custom blends of tea, write a poem, bake muffins, anything you made yourself counts. If there’s something you’d like, include it in your comment or drop me a message.

(Iiiiii paint, I draw, I write, and I can, of course, try my hand at things like CDs and tea.  I also sing, so if you fancy a cover of a song or something, I can do you that.)

yuletide!

This is the post wherein I talk about Yuletide!

This year I got a fantastic fic, I See With My Eyes, in response to my prompt for Matrix fic dealing with trans* and/or genderqueer issues.  It approaches things in a very interesting way, and does so entirely with OCs, which is not something I'm usually huge on, but this fic does it very well.  It succinctly sculpts character and mood, and furthermore, was written at the last minute as a pinch hit, so go read!

My own fic, which I may reveal as it is past the New Year, is this:

A Dream of Wind

A Peter Pan fanfiction, in which Mrs. Darling sorts through Mr. Darling's thoughts, and discovers the Neverland, amongst other Things.

I've wanted for aaaaages and ages and ages to write Peter Pan fic about Mr. Darling and Captain Hook, and this ended up being something else slightly to the left of that, but I am quite pleased with it nonetheless.

Also, thanks in part to [livejournal.com profile] earlwyn, and in part to the fact that the new Sherlock Holmes film came out last month, I am revisiting my love for Sherlock Holmes, and also have developed a mildly unhealthy obsession with Robert Downey, Jr.  I have been watching allllllll his films.  Even the bad eighties ones.  And the ones set in the court of Charles II that involve horrendous wigs.

Your job is now your Time Lord name. The last digit of your phone number is the current regeneration you are in. The nearest clothing item to your right is now the most notable item in your current wardrobe. The last person you texted is your current companion. Your favourite word is now your catchphrase.

I am... The Photographer, I'm in my first regeneration, and the most notable article of clothing in my current wardrobe is an oversized men's leather jacket.  My companion is a genderqueer, vegan Mancunian with green hair, fantastic glasses, and a habit of associating themself with Causes.  I disapprove of catchphrases, because I find it impossible to have one favourite word, and my favourite words tend to be things like... haecceity and sesquipedalian and amaranthine, none of which make a very good catchphrase.  I do say indeed a lot, though.

Hello, dearest darlingest Yuletide writer of fabulosity!

Are you excited for Yuletide?  You should be.  I am excited for Yuletide.  A pre-emptive thanks for putting yourself out there to write me something, as is tradition.  I am all sorts of excited to see what you come out with, and am sure it will be excellent and fabulous. Here are ways, however, to make it even more awesome.

Things Wot Delight Me and Make Me Roll Around: Unique use of language and obscure/archaic words, historical accuracy, fiddly details, black humour, unconventional relationships, semi-colons, realistic and well-rounded depictions of queer characters, awkwardness, realistic dialogue, UST, kisses, literary and historical references, worldbuilding sneaky nods to canon, endings which are also beginnings, snark, banter.

Things What Harsh My Squee: Non-con/rape, poor spelling and grammar, characters behaving OOC-ly, or being dumb for purposes of the plot

details under the cutlet )

All of that said, if you already have a storm of ideas roiling around in your brain that have nothing to do with any of my rambling prompts, let them loose!  There is nothing quite so lovely as getting a fic for Yuletide that is something you never knew you wanted, but once written, is Everything You Ever Needed in a Fic.

If you have any further inquiries, I should direct you over to [livejournal.com profile] earlwyn, as we cohabitate in each other's brains.
